Neste artigo pretendemos mostrar hermeneuticamente como o problema da renúncia do mundo não é sinônimo de apatia (como se vê em Friedrich Nietzsche) ou contemplação (como se vê em obras de história e cartas de Jacob Burckhardt). Através de dois romances e ensaios de Thomas Mann, veremos como esta renúncia é base da própria criação literária e ficcional.
In this article we intend to show hermeneutically how the issue of the world-denial it isn’t a bare synonimus for apathy (as can be seen in Friedrich Nietzsche´s works) nor mere contemplation (as one can verify in Jacob Burckhardts historiographical works and letters). Through some works of Thomas Mann (two of his novels and another two essays), we might understand how the world-denial is the very foundation of literary creation and fiction itself.
