Este estudo objetiva investigar as conseqüências psicossociais da violência sofrida e apreender as representações sociais que estas elaboram acerca do agressor e da violência. Trata-se de um estudo de campo, o qual utilizou entrevistas semi-estrutradas, analisadas por meio da análise de conteúdo temática. Participaram da pesquisa 16 mulheres que sofreram violência de seus companheiros com idades entre 21 e 53 anos. Os resultados apontaram que a violência física foi a mais referida e as motivações da violência foram álcool e drogas. O agressor foi representado pelas mulheres através de objetivações negativas e afetivas, e estas manifestaram sentimentos prejudiciais a sua saúde mental. As consequências da violência atingiram seus aspectos físicos, emocionais e sociais. No que tange as representações acerca do futuro, observaram-se representações ancoradas na resiliência e na falta de perspectivas. Verificou-se que a violência contra a mulher reflete um fenômeno complexo, multifacetado e contraditório.
This study aims at both investigating the psychosocial consequences of the violence experienced by these women, and examining the social representations they elaborate on the violence itself and the aggressor. This fieldwork has employed semi-structured interviews, which have been analyzed by means of a thematic content analysis. Sixteen women aged between 21 and 53 who have undergone violence from their partners took part in this research. The results have shown that physical violence was the most frequently mentioned, and that alcohol and drugs were the motivation for it. The aggressor was represented by the women through affective and negative objectification, which demonstrated harmful feelings to their mental health as well as submissive behavior. The consequences of this violence affected their physical, emotional and social aspects. Regarding the representations about the future, representations based on resilience and lack of expectations were observed. To sum up, the study demonstrated that violence against women reflects a complex, multifaceted and contradictory phenomenon.
Este estudio investiga las consecuencias psicosociales de la violencia experimentada y comprender las representaciones sociales que producen sobre el autor del delito y la violencia. Se trata de un estudio de campo, que era semi-formante, análisis de contenido temático. Participaron en la encuesta de 16 mujeres que sufrieron violencia de sus parejas de entre 21 y 53 años. Los resultados mostraron que la violencia física fue la más reportada y las motivaciones de la violencia fueron el alcohol y las drogas. El autor estuvo representado por mujeres a través de objetivaciones negativos y afectivos, y expresó estos sentimientos perjudiciales para su salud mental. Las consecuencias de la violencia llegó a su físico, emocional y social. En cuanto a las representaciones sobre el futuro, hubo representaciones basadas en la resistencia y la falta de perspectivas. Se encontró que la violencia contra las mujeres refleja un fenómeno tan complejo, multifacético y contradictorio.
