The health research must have high standards, be focused to provide answers to health problems, and produce results that improve the health status of the population. The text examines how, in Spain, has created and developed the figure of the Health Research Institute, the accreditation of excellence that can reach a biomedical research institute that combines experimental basic research, clinical research and translational research, in a high-level hospital care, with teaching postgraduate and graduate levels and research career, and what are the criteria and process used to it.
La investigación sanitaria debe tener altos niveles de calidad, estar enfocada a dar respuestas a problemas de salud, y producir resultados que mejoren los estados de salud de la población. El texto analiza como, en España, se ha creado y desarrollado la figura del Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria, acreditación de excelencia que puede alcanzar un instituto de investigación biomédica, que combine la investigación básica experimental, la investigación clÃnica, y la investigación traslacional, en el marco de un hospital de alto nivel asistencial, con docencia pregrado y post-grado y con trayectoria investigadora, y cuáles son los criterios y proceso seguido para ello.
