Discute-se o envelhecimento humano a partir de dois contos de Clarice Lispector: “Feliz aniversário” e “Viagem a Petrópolis”. O tema das duas histórias – o envelhecimento – tem grande importância na história da literatura e aparece em mitos, canções, poemas, peças e narrativas. No artigo, são destacados aspectos que acompanham o processo do envelhecimento – restrições de sentidos e movimentos do corpo, isolamento social e solidão. No percurso do trabalho, as personagens Anita e Mocinha ajudam a pontuar questões como memória e relações familiares. No âmbito teórico, são tomados como referência autores, como Jurandir Freire Costa, Erving Goffman, Simone de Beauvoir, Eneida Gonçalves de Macedo Haddad, Marco Túlio Cícero, Michel Foucault e Norbert Elias. Propõe-se que o tema do envelhecimento seja levado para a sala de aula, lugar onde se podem tecer reflexões importantes sobre esse drama, em todos os níveis de ensino.
Human aging is discussed based on two short stories by Clarice Lispector, “Feliz aniver-sário” and “Viagem a Petrópolis”. The theme of both stories – the aging – has a great importance in the literature history and appears in myths, songs, poems, plays and narratives. In the article, aspects that accompany the aging process are highlighted – senses restrictions and body movements, social isolation and loneliness. In the course of the work, the characters Anita and Mocinha help to punctuate issues such as memory and family relationships. In the theoretical scope, authors such as Jurandir Freire Costa, Erving Goffman, Simone de Beauvoir, Eneida Gonçalves de Macedo Haddad, Marco Tulio Cicero, Michel Foucault and Norbert Elias are taken as references. It is pro-posed that the theme of aging be taken to the classroom, a place where important reflections on this drama can be made, at all education levels.
