This article analyzes legal education in Brazil, historically based on an adversarial which currently faces the challenge of adapting to the culture of dialogue imposed by the new National Curriculum Guidelines (CNE/CES Resolution No. 5/2018). The central problem lies in the structural and cultural resistance of educational institutions and teachers to replacing the litigation paradigm with consensual methods of conflict resolution. The objective of the study is to evaluate how the Law School at the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG) incorporates mediation into its curriculum and to verify the contribution of the extension project “NPJ Advanced Center of CEJUSC” to academic training. The methodology adopted consists of an experience report with a qualitative approach and documentary research, based on the deductive method and the analysis of data from the Projudi system between 2023 and 2025. The results demonstrate that, although UEPG has included the subject of Mediation and Arbitration, its elective nature and offering in the final year of the course limit the scope of the intended cultural change. In contrast, the extension project proved to be highly effective, achieving an agreement rate of over 93% in 2025 and providing students with the development of humanistic and practical skills. It is concluded that the project serves as an instrument of social transformation, but the consolidation of a culture of peace requires a deeper and more mandatory integration of these methods throughout the curriculum.
